UDINE and CIVIDALE, are the first towns that can be encountered starting from “Residence Caporale”. Udine is a thousand year old city . Although its architecture has changed all over the centuries, it always keeps inside all its medieval, or even earlier, history. Cividale, instead, has the charm of a Lombard city. Not far from here there is AQUILEIA, called the second Rome, one of the most visited outdoors archeological site in the North of Italy.
Close to Udine you will find VILLA MANIN, where the Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte lived for a while; the villa is surrounded by a hundred year park. On your way to Grado you can stop at PALMANOVA a star – shaped citadel proclaimed “National Monument” in 1960.
